These changes directly affect how importers, exporters, customs brokers, and companies in the sector carry out their procedures, making it essential to stay informed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a detailed overview of the most relevant updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New rules for the SAT Code in customs declarations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Expanded product classification rules:<\/strong><br>The catalog of SAT codes has been updated to include specific products that were not previously covered, making it easier to assign the correct code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Digitalization of procedures:<\/strong><br>The SAT has improved its online platform to allow more efficient management of codes and easier access to documents related to customs operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Automated monitoring:<\/strong><br>Artificial intelligence tools have been implemented to detect inconsistencies in import declarations, promoting greater transparency and compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key changes to Annex 22<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>New &#8220;CA&#8221; identifier for electronic seals:<\/strong><br>A new identifier has been added to Appendix 8 to declare the use of electronic seals in transportation units or containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Application Level:<\/strong> Global (G), which means it applies to the entire customs declaration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complement 1:<\/strong> Must include the electronic seal number.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complements 2 and 3:<\/strong> Must be left blank.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Critical changes for goods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Payment of countervailing duties in simplified declarations:<\/strong><br>If the imported goods are subject to countervailing duties, these must now be paid as part of the simplified customs declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Elimination of the USD $1,000 exemption limit:<\/strong><br>Previously, goods with a customs value under USD $1,000 did not require the consignee to be registered in the Importers\u2019 Registry. This exception has now been eliminated.
