Main customs offices in Mexico

In this blog, we will share everything you need to know about customs offices in Mexico.

The Agencia Nacional de Aduanas de México (National Customs Agency of Mexico) is the governing body in charge of overseeing customs across the country. Its main objective is to regulate the entry and exit of goods and ensure their legal stay within the national territory.

Customs offices are located at strategic points relevant to the country’s commercial activity and are classified into three main types:

Land customs offices: These are responsible for controlling the flow of goods transported by road and rail. They are located at border access points where both commercial and private transportation moves across.

Maritime customs offices: Located in port infrastructure, they regulate maritime trade and supervise the transit of various types of goods. These are among the busiest, handling high volumes of cargo.

Air customs offices: Positioned in key locations throughout the country, they mainly oversee the movement of people, but they also inspect cargo shipments and passenger luggage.
